Welcome to our July E-Newsletter,
This month, I’m pleased to welcome Medibank as the newest member of our growing risk community. We look forward to working with the team and supporting their commitment to strengthening risk management capability within their organisation.
July also featured two member webinars, providing members with opportunities to stay informed, build capability and engage with current industry topics.
Hosted by EY, Home Lending Fraud in Australia: Causes, Costs, and Consequences will explore the growing sophistication of home lending fraud, including AI-enabled threats, organised crime syndicates, insider activity and other emerging risks impacting the sector.
Our second member webinar, Demystifying Internal Audit, hosted by Westpac, examined the important role internal audit plays as a strategic partner in better risk management and how organisations can unlock greater value by fostering strong collaboration between audit and risk teams.
Preparations are also well underway for our annual CRO Conference, hosted by EY.

Forums Focus
RMA Australia’s forums continue to provide members with valuable opportunities to connect, collaborate and share practical insights on the issues shaping the financial services risk landscape. During Q3, 14 specialist forums and working groups are being delivered, covering a broad range of risk disciplines and emerging topics.
This quarter’s program includes:

- Risk Culture – Hosted by Jodie Stocks (Westpac), Chaired by Angela Barter (Commonwealth Bank).
- Technology Risk – Hosted and Chaired by Hemani Soi (Commonwealth Bank).
