About the Speakers:-
David Bushby, Chief Executive Officer, Commercial & Asset Finance Brokers Association of Australia (CAFBA)
David has thirty years’ background in the practice of law, as a company director, in government and community relations, law making, politics and diplomacy. David is an admitted solicitor to the High Court of Australia and served as a Federal Senator for Tasmania from 2007 to 2019, where he was Chief Government Whip of the Senate from 2014 onwards. David was for many years, Chair/Deputy Chair of the Senate Economics Committee where he took a particular interest in the banking, finance and superannuation sectors.
Between 2019 and 2022, David served as Australia’s Consul-General in Chicago.
Michael Hutchison, Head of Country and ESG, Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA)
Michael leads a team focused on global geopolitical, financial and ESG risks to the CBA’s strategy, and sovereign and corporate clients. Michael was preciously based in Hong Kong as HSBC’s Head of Geopolitical Risk for Asia Pacific, and as the Head of Strategic Assessments for the bank’s Financial Intelligence Unit.
Before moving into banking, Michael worked in the Australian Intelligence Community. He served in Afghanistan where he provided intelligence support to operational-level commanders and supported national-level agencies from within the Middle East Theatre of Operations. He also completed Mandarin language training at the People’s Liberation Army University of Foreign Languages.
Michael is a graduate of the Australian National University, where he completed degrees in Arts and Asian Studies.
Valmiki Mukherjee, Chairman & Founder, Cyber Future Foundation
Valmiki is a distinguished Global CISO, Entrepreneur, and Philanthropist CEO, renowned for his transformative impact on cybersecurity over a career spanning more than two decades. Val founded the Cyber Future Foundation (CFF) in 2015 uniting stakeholders from the public sector, academia, and industry.
Valmiki has held significant executive roles, including Managing Director at Ernst & Young in the US. Val also currently serves as the Global CISO of BounteousXAccolite. He holds a Master of Science in Computer Engineering from the University of North Texas and is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
