Sam Gandy, Domain Lead AI Policy and Governance, CBA
Sam leads AI Policy and Governance at Commonwealth Bank, where he is responsible for helping shape the frameworks, policies and governance practices that support the Bank’s adoption of artificial intelligence. He works across business, technology, risk and compliance teams to enable the responsible use of AI while balancing innovation, customer trust and risk management.
With experience in technology risk, data governance and AI oversight, Sam specialises in the practical challenges organisations face as they embed AI into products, services and business processes.
Luan Ferreira, Executive Manager Models, AI and Data Audit, CBA
Luan leads the Models, AI and Data Audit team at Commonwealth Bank of Australia, providing independent assurance across artificial intelligence, data management, and financial and non-financial risk models. His career includes senior roles at Deloitte, Westpac, and IBM, as well as extensive experience developing, validating, and governing machine learning and regulatory capital models. Luan holds master’s degrees in computational statistics and philosophy with research focused on trust in AI systems and the conditions under which that trust is warranted.
