Welcome to 2024!
At RMA Australia, we are excited to share that we have a robust calendar filled with monthly webinars, face-to-face networking events, specialised forums, and our highly anticipated Annual CRO Conference for the year ahead. These gatherings are designed to provide you with valuable insights, foster meaningful connections, and facilitate the exchange of knowledge within our risk community.
In February, we are running two webinars. The first kicks off our inaugural “Risk Fundamentals” series, hosted by NGM Group, where we explore some of the key disciplines in an entity’s risk function—beginning with the role of the CRO.
Our second webinar, “Macro trends and volatility shaping risk management in 2024 and beyond”, hosted by Genpact, will feature esteemed panellists Rahoul Chowdry, Senior Advisor, Board and Audit and risk committee member of AMP, AMP bank, RBA and board of partners at MinterEllison, John Lorimer, Chairman of the Board at BUPA and Non-Executive Director at BOQ and Amy Hansen, General Manager, Customer Services and Technology Business Controls Monitoring & Remediation, Westpac. In the ever-evolving landscape of risk management, our focus for the upcoming year will be on several pivotal topics and trends. Some of these include advancing Artificial Intelligence (AI) and AI tools, the critical aspect of managing AI risk and utilising Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) platforms. Additionally, we will explore risk maturity models and the development of comprehensive risk appetite statements.I encourage you to make the most of your own membership and extend this invitation to your risk colleagues, inviting them to join our community under the Zero Fee membership model we offer.As always, your feedback in shaping the direction of RMA Australia is extremely important. Introducing the “Risk Fundamentals” Series
The Risk Fundamentals Series is an exciting initiative that brings together senior risk professionals, including members of the RMA Australia Management Committee and serving group CROs, for a series of informative presentations delivered in a university-style lecture format. Each event within the series will delve into crucial aspects of risk functions, providing valuable insights and expertise to our members.
Following each presentation, a dedicated Q & A session will allow members to engage in open and insightful discussions. To ensure accessibility and continuous learning, live presentations and event recordings will be available through our website’s dedicated member “Risk Fundamentals” Series section.
This series promises to be an invaluable resource for risk professionals looking to enhance their knowledge and stay informed about the latest developments in risk functions.
