2024 October E-Newsletter
A Message from our Executive Director
Dear RMA Australia Members,
This past month has been an engaging time for RMA Australia, with our webinars, forums and events providing quality and valuable discussions on risk management.
Our annual Economic Update, hosted by Westpac and featuring Senior Economist Matthew Hassan, was a great success. Over 540 RMA Australia members joined us online, with 80 members attending the face-to-face component in Sydney. It was a fantastic opportunity to connect and explore the latest economic trends with key industry insights.
Our Sydney mentoring group, hosted by CBA, also discussed the learnings from the recent RMA Australia webinars on “Strategies for Difficult Conversations.” The session, led by Julie Hunter, allowed members to share personal and professional experiences, gaining helpful perspectives on handling complex conversations. It was a fascinating discussion, and those in attendance walked away with valuable strategies to apply in their daily roles.
Looking ahead, we have our final Ballot Box 2024 – Navigating Election Uncertainty Panel on 29 October. With the US Presidential Election just around the corner on 5 November, we’re asking – will Donald Trump or Kamala Harris prevail? What impact will the outcome have on global financial markets? And, crucially, what will it mean for Australia?
For Panel 4, RMA Australia has secured an incredible lineup of speakers, including Dr. Andrea Bonime-Blanc, one of the world’s leading risk management advisors, joining us from New York. She will be joined by former hedge fund trader and investment banker Andrew Perry and AMP’s economist, My Bui. This will be an unmissable session as we dive into the final week of the US campaign.
As always, we encourage you to participate actively in our webinars, forums, and events and share your feedback on how we can continue to enhance your RMA membership experience.
