About the Speakers:-

Kate Oswald, Head of Climate Risk, ANZ

Kate is responsible for managing Climate Risk for ANZ Group, including overseeing and further integrating climate risk into ANZ’s risk management framework to meet ANZ’s regulatory and disclosure requirements and align with strategic objectives.

Kate has played a key leadership role in progressing ANZ’s management of Climate Risk in recent years under the Social & Environmental Risk Team. In mid-2023, she also attended the Climate-related Financial Risk Programme at Oxford University to support her professional development, providing her with an understanding of the latest research on measuring and assessing climate risk.

 

Tsen Wong, Head of Energy Transition, ANZ

Tsen Wong is the Head of Energy Transition within the Resources Energy & Infrastructure (REI) segment of ANZ Institutional. Tsen has served ANZ for over 23 years in numerous roles across the bank spanning Group functions, retail banking, Project & Structured Finance, and Institutional Relationship Banking.

Tsen currently leads REI’s Transition team, which provides specialist support and insights to REI and its stakeholders in relation to complex climate and other ESG transition matters associated with our customer relationships, transactions, portfolio, and REI’s business strategy. Tsen actively engages in Divisional and Group-level sustainability initiatives, including working closely with the Energy Efficiency Council to promote and advocate for energy productivity as a critical part of achieving net zero.

 

Iain Lawson, Senior Advisor, Commodity Markets, Ernst & Young

Iain is a Senior Adviser at EY based in Singapore with more than 30 years of experience working in commodity markets. His experiences includes significant involvement in the Energy Transition from hydrocarbons to new fuels such as hydrogen, ammonia and biofuels, with carbon markets and pricing a key driver of commerciality. Additionally, Iain’s experience spans end to end supply and retail logistics across crude, oil products, bulk commodities such as iron ore and coal, base and precious metals, petrochemicals, new fuels and carbon.

 

Mark Romanos, Director, Financial Services, Ernst & Young

Mark is a Director in EY’s Actuarial Services team with more than 13 years of experience split across EY’s Sydney and London offices, focused primarily in the area of credit risk for banks. Mark has led projects across the end-to-end credit cycle, including various climate stress testing exercises. In recent years, Mark has had an increasing focus on the allowance for ESG risk as it relates to credit, including origination strategy, scenario analysis and counterparty assessment.
