Welcome to the February edition of the RMA Australia E-Newsletter,
Our member webinars and face-to-face events have started strongly. We are thrilled to report a record number of registrations for our first webinar with over 650 registrations on Credit Risk futures in 2025 and beyond hosted by PwC with panel members from NAB and Westpac, which received an outstanding overall rating of 4.7. Attendees praised the depth of information shared and the event’s engaging pace.Your feedback allows us to continue providing high-quality programming to support your professional development. The webinar is available to view via the member library on our website.
Our first face-to-face event of the year, “Navigating AI and Privacy in Financial Services: Regulatory Developments and Governance Considerations,” hosted by KPMG, was a great success. With 110 attendees, the event sparked meaningful discussions, followed by an enjoyable networking session complete with canapés.
We are also excited to welcome our newest members: Insignia, Rest, and ReadiNow. We look forward to the invaluable perspectives and contributions you will bring to the RMA Australia community.
Looking ahead, we are pleased to announce our upcoming March event, “IWD March Forward: For ALL Women and Girls,” hosted by Westpac. Please join us in Sydney for this important gathering or tune in via webinar for our annual International Women’s Day event.

What are the three primary tasks of your role in risk (Chief Strategy Officer)?
- Delivering Innovation in Risk Technology – Identifying and integrating emerging AI-driven advancements to enhance risk management and compliance capabilities for highly regulated industries.
- Coaching Executives Through the Execution of Digitalisation Programs – Supporting senior leaders in navigating the complexities of risk digitalisation, ensuring technology adoption aligns with regulatory requirements and strategic objectives.
- Driving Cultural Change Towards the Adoption of Digital Solutions – Advocating for industry-wide transformation, working with risk leaders to embed digital-first approaches in solving the most complex risk challenges.
In your opinion, what are the biggest challenges facing risk professionals in our industry?
- Leadership to Drive, Enable, and Embrace Change – The success of digital transformation depends on leaders who can champion and execute change initiatives while navigating organisational resistance.
- The Growing Scale and Complexity of Change – Risk functions must adapt to an ever-expanding regulatory landscape, cyber threats, and interconnected risks, requiring continuous scalability and agility.
- Organisational Speed of AI Adoption – While AI presents enormous opportunities for automation and efficiency, organisations struggle with governance, ethical AI use, and internal capability building to ensure responsible adoption.
