June/July 2023 E-Newsletter

A Message from our Executive Director

Welcome to the June/July e-newsletter,

As another financial year closes, I want to reflect on the continued support of the risk management community. Seeing such a positive response to the Zero Fee Membership model we introduced earlier this year and its role in connecting members via webinars from across Australia and beyond has been very pleasing.

Our most recent event hosted by Stirling & Rose on Artificial intelligence – novel risks posed by AI and the emergence of generative models had 300 members attend online, and a further 169 views on demand via the member area of our website. Thank you to the following speakers for contributing to this outstanding result and Timothy Allen, Senior Manager of Financial Crime Compliance, CBA, for moderating. Dr Lachlan McCalman, CTO, Gradient Institute, SJ Price, Head of AI, Stirling & Rose, James Myint, Managing Partner, Stirling & Rose.

Thank you to everyone interacting with our webinars using the polls and webinar rating system. We average a 4.7 rating out of 5 for our webinars and aim to continue improving the quality and quantity of risk content we offer.

This month, we farewell the outgoing President of RMA Australia, David O’Brien, Group General Manager, Risk Metrics & Measurement, ANZ, after a wonderful three-year term as our leader.

We look forward to seeing our member community continue growing and thriving in 2023 as we support your professional and networking needs via our webinars, events, forums and partner affiliations.
