2025 March E-Newsletter
A Message from our Executive Director
Dear RMA Australia Members,
Welcome to the March E-Newsletter.
As we move through March and into April, we enter one of the busiest periods for the RMA Australia team. This time of year marks the end of our current membership year and the beginning of a new one.
We are pleased to share that, as part of our commitment to building a more inclusive and engaged community, we have continued our ZERO FEE individual membership model. This initiative is designed to allow as many risk colleagues as possible to join, engage, and become active members of our growing community.
If you haven’t already done so, we encourage you to join or renew your individual membership via our website.
Details on our Institutional and Associate memberships can also be viewed on our website or for a more detailed discussion, please contact our team directly.
Doing so will ensure you and your organisation are registered for our upcoming webinars and events.
Our annual International Women’s Day (IWD) event, held both in Sydney and via webinar on 5 March, is always a highlight on the RMA Australia events calendar. We thank Westpac’s Chief Risk Officer, Group Functions and RMA Australia Management Committee member Catherine Thrum for expertly leading the insightful discussion on IWD March Forward: For ALL Women and Girls. Special thanks also to Michelle Pinheiro, who leads ANZ’s technical risk function for delivering a broad perspective on the panel.
Our second March event, hosted by ReadiNow, focused on the timely topic of Risk Leader Digitisation Priorities for 2025 – Preparing for CPS 230 Compliance. With APRA’s CPS 230 deadline approaching on July 1, 2025, risk and compliance leaders are under increasing pressure to accelerate their digital transformation efforts. Thank you to Jerome Nyssen, Chief Strategy Officer, for moderating this important discussion and sharing your AI survey findings. Special thanks to Jane Couchman, Chief Risk Officer at Aware Super, for her expert commentary on the AI study.
As always, we encourage you to stay engaged with RMA Australia by joining or renewing your membership so that you can attend our events and be an active part of our risk community. I look forward to seeing you online or in person soon.
