The RMA is pleased to bring to its members this event hosted by National Australia Bank - Intelligent Controls - Uplifting technology controls as part of digital transformation.
The discussion will focus on the evolution of technology and data controls at NAB as part of the digital transformation efforts. The presentation will introduce the creation of the intelligent control methodology, the benefits of modelling technology processes as part of control design and implementation. The discussion will also focus on ensuring your organisation has the necessary staffing, individual skills and support structure to ensure success.

Divisional Controls Officer, Technology, NAB
Randy Miskanic is the General Manager and Divisional Controls Officer at National Australia Bank (NAB) where he leads a team of 50 individuals responsible for the control environment and first line risk for technology, data and enterprise resilience. Prior to joining NAB, he held an officer level role at Freddie Mac in the US where he was the Vice President of Enterprise Operational Resilience. In this role he led information, technology, and operational risk and governance initiatives for the enterprise. Previous private sector experience includes a role as the Chief Information Security Officer for the Americas Region at UBS, where he led cybersecurity, information lifecycle management, data governance and third-party risk oversight. Randy retired from U.S. government service after a 25-year career in federal law enforcement and leadership roles for the U.S. Postal Service, including Chief Information Officer and Chief Information Security Officer.
General Manager, Cyber Security & CISO, NAB
Nick McKenzie is NAB’s General Manager for Cybersecurity and the Group Chief Information Security Officer. He is accountable for all aspects of cybersecurity across the group and the running of all first line cybersecurity processes.
Nick has extensive experience in the global financial services sector. Prior to joining NAB, he was the Global Head and Managing Director for Technology, Information Security and Operational Risk at the Standard Chartered Bank. Nick has held several senior leadership roles (CISO/Head of Security Architecture and Engineering/ IT Security and Risk Leads) at JP Morgan Chase & Co, the Royal Bank of Scotland and UBS.
Nick holds advisory board membership roles for Google and La Trobe University.
Nick holds a Masters in Electronic Commerce and undergraduate Bachelor in Commerce (Management and Information Systems).
Nick began his career in Information Security in Arthur Andersen and Ernst and Young as a Penetration tester, and moved through most first line verticals of cyber security with experience in a second line capacity in Technology and Security Operational Risk management.
Nick and his family reside in Melbourne, Australia.

Jason is the GM Transformation of Enterprise Controls, having spent the last 14 years in compliance and risk management across NAB, GE and consultancy. He is passionate about ‘common-sense’ risk management and developing people to their full potential.
